About

Astrid Johnson is a games journalist living in Bournemouth on the south coast of the UK. She’s been a contributor at Indie Haven since March of 2016, and the Editor-in-chief as of January of 2017. She founded jaffameister.com as a dedicated platform for features that violently mash Communism into video games until she can write about how they make sense, but the site has now evolved into an aggregation of her content across all platforms and publications.

She has experience with design software like Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and CyberLink PowerDirector 15, and extensive experience with Google Drive applications, as well as basic experience with HTML and CSS. As of 2017, she semi-regularly produces freelance content for Waypoint, and is the co-host of The Gameographers, The Real Heroes, and the Indie Haven Podcast.

Wesley Elkins is a creative writing undergrad, which makes him very good at being Astrid’s editor and she appreciates that very much. He specializes in correcting Astrid’s grammar to make anything she writes actually readable, improving Astrid’s sentence structure so that they actually flow, and rolling his eyes at Astrid’s frequent outbursts about how naff Capitalism is.
